"Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind"(Luke 14:21b). Then the master said to the servant, "Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled" (Luke 14:23).

This is the time we are in; a time of going quickly out and bringing in – a time of going to the highways and hedges and compelling. The word translated as “hedge” means a fence or a barrier, and the word translated as “highway” means road or route. We are to go and compel those who have barriers preventing them from being at the supper to come to the house of God and sup. We are to go to those whose route is walking away from God, and compel them to turn back and come to the house of God and sup. We are the servants prepared to serve the supper to those we are going out to seek. We are the servants who labor in the fields to bring in the harvest, then gird our waste (waist) and serve the Lord and His guests.

The message we have is the message of John the Baptist – turn to the Lord (repent) for the kingdom of God is at hand. The message is the message of our Savior Who has been anointed to “to preach deliverance to the captives” (see Luke 4:18). The message is the word, “Jesus has removed the barriers – come now to His table and sup with Him!” The message is the word, “The route you are taking is leading away from your destination, turn now and come into the house of God and sup with Him.” The deaf will hear, and the blind will see – the lame will leap and dance the dance of David. The servants of the Lord will rejoice to see the salvation of the children of God.

This is the first of three visions.
